- I have a medical condition listed on your release form. Can I still get a tattoo?
Please consult with a medical processional prior to scheduling an appointment.
- How much is a tattoo/consultation/coverup?
Please review the "Services" page on my website
- I can't pay for my tattoo at the time of the appointment. Can I pay you a week after?
Payment is expected at the time of the appointment. Leaving the shop without payment is stealing.
- I want a completely custom piece. Do you do custom drawings if I don't schedule an appointment?
Custom drawings are FREE if the customer has paid a deposit for an appointment already made. Otherwise, there will be a $50 drawing fee with no appointment.
- Why aren't you open more days of the week?
I'm currently a full time student, and try very hard to schedule classes in a way that gives me 2 free days each week to tattoo.
- Do you take walk-ins?
Please see the walk-in page on my website. Short answer, not usually.
- Where do you communicate with clients?
Via text at 920-349-6090
- It's summer and I spend all day on a boat. Can I still get a tattoo?
` Yes! But it is not recommended. If you spend most of your time near water or in the sun, it is recommended to wait until the cooler season to get a tattoo. After getting your tattoo, please avoid water and the sun for at least 2 weeks or until it is fully healed.
- I got sunburn two days before my appointment. Can I still get a tattoo?
No. If your skin layers are already damaged, it is not a good idea to cause more trauma to them with a tattoo. Please reschedule and wear sunscreen next time.
- I just got a new tattoo! Can I wear sunscreen so I can hang out in the sun?
Refrain from wearing sunscreen on your tattoo for at least 2 weeks (or until completely healed). It is better to keep it out of the sun completely.
- How do I keep my color piece from fading?
Proper aftercare! Please read the entire aftercare sheet that is available, and try your best to follow each step. After the tattoo is completely healed, protect it from the sun with clothing or sunscreen. Moisturizing daily can also help!
- Will the tattoo hurt?
Probably! I can't lie, I think it hurts. But a lot of pain is mental, right? And super temporary. Just think if 32% of Americans can go through it, chances are you'll be ok. If you really don't think you can handle it, please go to my "Before care" page to get a numbing cream recommendation.
- I have a service dog. Can he/she come with me?
Yes! Please let your artist know ahead of time what the dog is trained to do. Also note that with a dog in a small shop, the risk of infection increases with the amount of hair and dander that comes with it.
- Can I bring my whole family with me?
Unfortunately, there is not much room for others in the family. The maximum amount of guests is 1 (only 3 people including me will be in the studio at one time).
- Your address brings up "Nail Essentials" and not your business name. How do I find you?
I'm in the same building! I was lucky enough to rent a studio in the lower level of their salon. There is a private side door accessible from the sidewalk on HWY 60.
- I'm 16, can I get a tattoo with my parents' permission?
Wisconsin is a non-consent state, meaning parents cannot sign off on a minor's tattoo. You will have to wait until you're 18 to get that tattoo. But the wait is worth it!
- Do you do piercings?
I am not licensed to pierce, nor do I have any interest in it. I think I would throw up sticking a needle through someone's skin like that (they sure do look cool though!). If you shoot me a text I'll be more than happy to give you a recommendation.
- Why does it say you do piercings on Facebook?
Any tattoo business listed on Facebook has to list as "Tattoo and piercing shop" whether the shop does piercings or not. It groups them together.
- Do you have any deals going on right now?
Check out my Facebook under "Contact" and find out! I do some deals periodically.
- Do you require a tip?
Absolutely not. I have very mixed opinions on tipping culture in the United States, and because of that I will never expect a tip. If you feel as though my service was exceptional, you are welcome to offer a tip, but I price my tattoos what I think they're worth and don't expect anything extra. If you don't want to tip me, but really liked my service, I really like the Blanco Frappes from Perc Place down the street!
- What's your Starbuck's order?
I opened my shop in downtown Hartford so I could purposely be near Perc Place. I love their Blanco Frappes. It's always a good idea to support your local coffee shops!
- When is your birthday?
January 22nd! I love my birthday, so I often do deals around this time. Keep an eye out for that!
- Is there a weight limit?
For health reasons, it is recomended to speak with your doctor prior to getting a tattoo. Besides there, there is not much of a limit as far as weight goes. That being said, my equipment can only hold up to 350 lbs. Please let me know if that is exceeded and we will accomodate.
- What are your inclement weather policies?
For the safety of me and my clients, I am quick to reschedule if there is snow on the roads, snow in the forecast, or if it is currently snowing.
- When will you open?
Hopefully December 13th!
